PCT S.A joins forces with We4all for the cleaning of the Attica sea front

Consistent with its commitment to strengthening the positive footprint on society and the environment, PCT S.A (Piraeus Container Terminal) on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in collaboration with the NGO We4all, proceeded with the cleaning of the coast of Peace and Friendship Stadium at Neo Faliro. More than 100 of company employees along with their families and We4all team members voluntarily participated in this action. PCT is now a proud member of the We4all environmental alliance at the <Earth Protector> level, actively contributing to the wider effort to protect the environment.

The results from the implementation of this action highlighted the importance of similar initiatives with a collective effort for the environment, since in just one day a considerable amount of waste was collected and removed, which was then transferred to special facilities for further processing and proper management. This specific cleaning action is part of a wider program undertaken by PCT in collaboration with WE4ALL that concerns the voluntary cleaning of 5 kilometers coastal areas in the southern Attica beach front.

Captain Wang Jihang, Managing Director of PCT said: "This initiative reflects the culture and values of our company. The protection of the coasts and the marine ecosystem are goals that require joining forces, raising awareness and collectively adopting responsible behavior. At PCT we consider our obligation to make an active contribution to the protection of the coastal and marine environment in which we operate, ensuring the sustainability of our planet for future generations."

It is worth mentioning that PCT, with a strong commitment to people and the environment, has undertaken significant Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives from its establishment in 2010 until today. Specifically, in the period 2010 - 2023, PCT S.A has donated a total of €600,000 for the implementation of actions supporting educational and charitable institutions, NGOs and vulnerable groups of the local society, with the aim of providing support to those in need.
