The Piraeus Container Terminal SA (PCT) awarded four scholarships of 2,500 euros each to four female students from the municipality of Perama who were admitted to Greek Higher Education Institutions for the academic year 2024 – 2025. The scholarship program, established by PCT this year, aims to reward graduates of Public General or Vocational High Schools in the municipality of Perama who have achieved high scores in the nationwide exams and meet specific social and income criteria.
The scholarship award ceremony took place on Saturday, November 2nd, during a festive event organized by PCT, which included a basketball tournament for the students of the New Ikonio Primary School in Perama, coinciding with the inauguration of the renovated basketball court— a project completed thanks to the donation from PCT. During the event, PCT's CEO, Captain Wang Jihang, presented the scholarships to the four successful first-year students, while the Mayor of Perama, Mr. Ioannis Lagoudakos, honored PCT for its contributions to Education and Youth.
"The smiles and emotions of the children and their families are, for us at PCT, the greatest reward. The impact of our initiatives inspires us and strengthens our resolve to continue our work in supporting the children and young people of the area, with the goal of creating better conditions and more opportunities for them. I want to thank the municipal authority of Perama for publicly recognizing our work, as well as the parents, students, and employees of PCT who honored us with their presence on this festive day," stated PCT's CEO, Captain Wang Jihang.
