Service AWE6 of COSCO SHIPPING Lines, which connects the Far East ports with the ports of the USA, has started through the port of PIRAEUS.
According to the announcement of COSCO SHIPPING Lines Co. LTD, the first departure from Piraeus is scheduled for July 2021.
The service will consist of 15 ships with a capacity of 10,000 containers each, with a fixed weekly schedule of approaches as follows:
Lianyungang - Qingdao - Shanghai - Ningbo - Yantian - Cai Mep - Singapore - Canal Suez - Piraeus - New York - Savannah - Piraeus - Suez Canal - Singapore - Laem Chabang - Cai Mep - Haiphong - Shanghai - Ningbo - Long Beach - Oakland - Lianyungang .
Thus, Piraeus, as the most important southern Gateway to Europe, is now part of the new service with two weekly approaches and will be the central hub in this new service "AEW6", which aims at a stable interconnection in freight transport between Asia, Europe (Eastern Mediterranean) and America (USA).
